Although I have been crafting for what seems like all my life, the creations found at Punky N Munky got started when my daughter was born.  I began with sewing clothing for her and then started making hair accessories to match her outfits.  After my son was born I stopped working outside of my home and began crafting on a regular basis.  For the fun of it, in January 2008, I decided to begin a shop on Etsy to see if anyone besides my immediate friends and family would be interested in my work.  I needed a name for the shop.  Without much thought I typed in Punky N Munky thinking I could change it later.  "Punky" is my daughters nickname which is short for "Pumpkin Pie", I still call her that to this day.  "Munky" is short for "Munchkin Man" (nope, no monkeys here!) which was my son's nickname, though he doesn't like for me to call him that anymore.  I found out that once you name your shop on Etsy you cannot change it, so I was stuck with it.  It quickly grew on me and now I love it and couldn't think of a better name!
